Voice Lessons

Melodic Notation teaches students how to use their voice in a healthy manner. Lessons should be engaging and fun! We play games in order to retain valuable information about your voice and surrounding support system. We use a combination of methods to improve tone, breathing, and range.

A typical lesson begins with emphasis on relaxation, posture, and breathing techniques. Next, we work on expanding your range, power and musical repertoire. Finally, we work on stage presence, microphone techniques, expression, and overall confidence!

  • Learn proper breathing and control
  • Master relaxation techniques
  • Improve range
  • Sing with power and control without over-exertion
  • Sing a variety of musical styles
  • Learn microphone techniques

Practicing

Practicing is crucial to the success of all musicians. We recommend 30-60 minutes of practice per day. Students are expected to keep a practice log. This way parents and the instructor can be a part of the student’s progress and accomplishments.

Recitals

There will be several recitals/performance opportunities each year pending student availability. Our goal is to spread the gift of music by reaching out to the community and senior facilities in the area.
